Fundraising and VolunteeringFundraising; is important to help us buy more chairs to enable more access to the Countryside and Trails. We are particually interested to work in partnership with local businesses in the immediate area and other organisations who can provide support or facilities for disabled customers.
If you are considering hosting an event yourselves and would like to consider us; we would love to meet up with you and discuss our project. We can offer mutual help and help promote your own event. |
Your Support Really Makes a DifferenceVolunteering; we are always interested in able-bodied help. Are you a walker, like the countryside or a biker who could spare a few hours from time to time to help us? A huge thank you to all the dedicated volunteers that are currently undertaking this rewarding work for the project and the disabled community.

The visitor information centre is conveniently situated close to the car park and is an excellent meeting and starting point, offering help and guidance for first time visitors.
There is a small gift shop, and along with the cafe, excellent access disabled toilet facilities are based here. You'll discover many other things to do around the country park including moth and bat evenings, pond dipping, quarry safaris and a canoe trail. You will also find miles of paths to follow on wheels or by foot foot with clear signage along the way. For visitors interested in history the ruins of Trowse Newton Hall are worth seeing. |
A bold appealing structure, resembling a large winged bird coming into land, it also provides shelter and base for a number recreational activities.
This is the main hub for the Norwich County Council run outdoor and adventure courses for ages 8 years and upwards. Fully accredited course dependent upon experience and ability. Sailing and family canoeing and archery are perhaps the activities which would appeal most to chair users, however other family members and friends who are visiting with you may well find these and other courses appealing. Also on Offer at Whitlingham Park
The area has many scenic vantage points from the Broad and river Yare, and there is even a campsite!
If the idea of taking to water appeals to you, why not try the Ra which was Britain's first solar-powered passenger boat.
The Ra silently glides amongst the plentiful wildfowl on the Broad powered by light, not heat...
so it doesn't matter even if it's a cloudy day! Bring warm, waterproof clothing (for spring and autumn trips especially) -
it's an open boat, so it can be deceptively colder than you expect out on the water.
The Ra has a ramp for wheelchair users and takes up to 12 passengers. See Whitlingham Park page for further information.
The park also offers a full range of water-based activities, including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, rafting and canoeing,
all of which can be undertaken in a safe and fun environment.
